Chiang Rai Bus (CR Bus) is a shuttle bus service from Chiang Rai International Airport to City Center and Chiang Rai Bus Terminal 2. Taking CR Bus is the most affordable way to get from the airport to Chiang Rai.

As the public transportation system in Chiang Rai still mainly depends on a songtaew (pickup trucks with seating for passengers), with taxis and tuk-tuk being the only other options for getting around the city, CR Bus is a surprisingly convenient addition to Chiang Rai public transport.

New brightly colored air-conditioned buses serve the route from Chiang Rai Airport to the city center. Both bus terminals travel from the airport to the city economically and comfortably.

CR's regular bus fare to and from the city center is ฿20.00.

Passengers may take the CR bus outside the terminal building of Chiang Rai Airport. Upon exiting the terminal, turn right and walk through the sidewalk. Down to the end of the building, CR Bus is located.

The fare should be paid upon boarding the vehicle. Thus, passengers must have coins or smaller local banknotes to pay the fare.

A metal box near the driver is provided to insert the coins and a basket on top for banknotes.
